Job Description:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing regularly scheduled preventative maintenance on systems and the facility following the Preventative Maintenance schedule. This includes changing filters, lightbulbs, changing tanks, and maintaining stock of certain items as directed by the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Technician will also work to find solutions to issues with equipment as they may arise while being conscientious of all safety requirements and safe work practices. This role will perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance, monthly safety checks, make repairs and modifications to equipment and repair the facility as needed. The Maintenance Technician works under the supervision and direction of the Maintenance Manager
Essential Functions:
• Work on equipment with safety as the top priority
• Able to work various shifts and overtime as required with little notice to meet production demands
• Work efficiently and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
• Work safely in compliance with company and OSHA safety guidelines
• Keep a clean organized work area
• Ability to service and overhaul basic and some advanced components (air/hydraulic cylinders/motors, valve assemblies, pumps, supporting sub-systems, etc.)
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks, to include but not limited to-machine lubrication, adjustments and alignments, part repairs, general safety, and operational checks, etc.
• Use standard shop equipment (bandsaw, hydraulic press, lathe, mill, etc.)
• Work in confined or tight spaces
• Use basic and advanced hand tools (gear pullers, precision levels and alignment tools, etc.)
• Use basic and advanced power tools
• Use basic and moderately advanced measuring devices
• Drive a forklift
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Other duties assigned by Maintenance Manager
Required Qualifications:
• *Must be able to train on first shift (7am-4pm) and then move into a permanent 2nd shift role (working 1pm-10pm)
• Must be a U. S. citizen
• High School Diploma
• Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
• Experience in facilities maintenance or a related field preferred
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others (written or verbally)
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Prior Lockout/Tagout experience
• Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Formal vocational training in plant maintenance activities with emphasis on industrial applications or equivalent job experience in electricity, power distribution, industrial electrical wiring, mechanics, machine operations, general plumbing, heating ventilation and air conditioning
• Experience with pumps, welding, bearings, electrical safety, forklifts, gears, hydraulics, valves, and vacuum systems
• Experience in HVAC, compressed air, dust collection, and electrical distribution are pluses
High School Diploma• Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude• Experience in facilities maintenance or a related field preferred
